Changes in the Use of PPMS – Action Required for Active Users (update 9 July 2025)
We are currently working to make the booking system Stratocore PPMS for Core Facilities available university-wide. For this purpose, we need to switch the login and registration processes for the PPMS booking system used for research equipment.
We will in the end provide registration and login via the Shibboleth service of the University IT and Data Center (Hochschulrechenzentrum, HRZ)
As a preparatory step you should perform the following changes that require action:

As of the switchover date, LOGIN will only be possible via Single Sign-On (SSO) using your Uni-ID through the HRZ – Shibboleth.
To prepare for this, you must update your email address in PPMS to the original Uni-ID email address from HRZ, especially if you currently use an alias as your username (e.g., Max.Mustermann@uni-bonn.de instead of mmuste@uni-bonn.de or s8abcd@uni-bonn.de).
Please use the LDAP server self-service in the University of Bonn intranet for this.
Do not change your E-mail on your profile page in PPMS, this will be overwritten by our LDAP Server.
You can verify your currently registered email via the above-mentioned LINK in the intranet
(LDAP server self-service).
If you wish to log in to PPMS using your Uni-ID in the future, you must enter the original email address you received upon registration to the University Bonn.

Only the login page will change for you. You will see a login button
"Login with your PPMS credentials (for external users)"
and you can still use your already provided username and password.
Time Lines and Information
Please change your email address by July 31, 2025.
After the switch to Shibboleth on end of August, login for users having an *.uni-bonn.de E-mail address will only be possible using the Uni-ID and corresponding password. Until then, your current username and password remains valid.
We setup a a mailing list via the listserver of the university (btc-ppms@listen.uni-bonn.de), where we try to keep you up to date. So if you are an active user of PPMS, please do not ignore messages, coming from this list server.
